How to get started with Lace Wallet

Lace runs as a browser extension and as a mobile app. Setting one up takes three steps — and the recovery phrase created in step two is the only thing that can ever restore your wallet, so keep it somewhere offline.

Add Lace to your browser

Install the extension from the Chrome Web Store — which covers Google Chrome and Brave — or from Firefox Add-ons. There is nothing to configure before you start.

Create a wallet, or restore one you already hold

Start a new wallet and Lace generates a recovery phrase, or restore an existing wallet into Lace. Write the phrase down and keep it offline — anyone who has it controls your funds.

Fund it, then explore

Receive ada by sharing your address, or buy with a card through the Banxa fiat on-ramp. From there you can stake, swap, collect NFTs and connect to Cardano DApps.

Lace is free to download from the browser extension stores and from the App Store or Google Play. After that, the costs you meet come from the networks you transact on — Cardano network fees, for example — and from third-party services such as the Banxa fiat on-ramp, which set their own terms.

Install Lace from lace.io, the Chrome Web Store, Firefox Add-ons, the App Store or Google Play. No one from Lace or Input Output will ever ask you for your recovery phrase — treat any request for it as a scam.

The Lace DApp connector (CIP30) lets Cardano applications connect to your wallet. Once you approve a connection you can use your ada on DEXs, DeFi services and NFT marketplaces without moving funds out of Lace.
